Hey there, fellow readers! It’s been quite a while since we last caught up, and boy, do I have some exciting news to share. Remember that wide-eyed accountancy student who was always crunching numbers and balancing the books? Well, fast forward to today, and I’m officially a law school newbie! That’s right, folks, this semester marks the beginning of my thrilling adventure in the world of law, and I couldn’t be more stoked.
You might be wondering how I went from being a number-crunching, spreadsheet-loving accounting whiz to chasing my dream of donning a lawyer’s hat (or should I say wig?). So, grab your favorite cup of coffee and settle in because I’m about to spill the beans on this wild journey.
The Dream that Refused to Die
Let’s rewind a bit, shall we? Picture this: A young, ambitious accountancy student (yours truly) buried under a mountain of financial statements, tax codes, and ledger books. I could calculate depreciation in my sleep and reconcile accounts with my eyes closed. But amidst all the numbers, one thing never changed – my fascination with law.
I decided to take a leap of faith, put on my detective cap (a metaphorical one, of course), and embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I started researching about studying law and talking to friends who are current students.
Then, a miracle happened. The university I am working for is now offering law school. I took the entrance exam, did the interview and enrolled. Classes start next week and I am still in awe. It seems like qadr. It may have been delayed, but it sure is perfect timing for me. Alhamdulillahi wa ma sha Allah.
The Countdown to Law School
Fast forward to this very moment, and here I am, sitting in our living room, trying to make sense of it all. It’s been a whirlwind of excitement and nerves. The list of textbooks I am about to buy is intimidating, but they also carry the promise of endless intellectual stimulation and growth.
While some of my friends might be scratching their heads, wondering what possessed me to make this leap, I’m confident that I’m following my passion, and that’s all that matters. In law school, I’ll not only learn the intricacies of the legal system but also develop valuable skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and persuasive argumentation. Who knew that my accounting background would come in handy for some of those complicated tax and business cases?
